Wind power harnesses the power of moving air, using wind turbines to mechanically drive generators that produce electricity. Wind power is plentiful, clean, widely available, and has minimum impact on the environment. It has become the main source of energy in many countries, with both onshore and offshore installations.

Pursuing BCPG’s commitment to seek expansion into many forms of renewable energy for sustainable growth, in mid-2017 the company invested in a wind power business in Nabas, Visayas Island, the Philippines. BCPG acquired 40% in PetroWind Energy Inc. (PWEI), bringing us a total production capacity of 20 MW;

The project has potential to generate electricity up to 9.4 hours/day, or 39% of each day

In 2018, BCPG expanded its renewable energy businesses in Thailand by purchasing Lom Ligor Co.,Ltd., an operator of a 9 MW wind power project located in Pak Panang, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The project has started the commercial operation since Q2/2019.

To expand clean energy business in CLMV countries, BCPG invested, through a joint venture - Impact Energy Asia Development Limited, in wind power project, with a total production capacity of 290 MW (according to investment proportionof 45%). The project, which is now under development, is located in Sekong province and Attapeu province in Laos and expected to start commercial operations within 2023 for selling electricity to Vietnam.
