BCPG’s Solar Government Projects with WVO to Start Commercial Operations as Thailand’s first.
BCPG’s solar government projects, collaboration between BCPG and the War Veterans Organization of Thailand (WVO), are the first two projects in the program to start commercial operations in Thailand. While the projects produce electricity from clean energy, they also benefit in income generation and job creation, leading to sustainable development of communities and government authorities.
Mr. Bundit Sapianchai, BCPG President, said that the Company’s two solar government projects, with a total production capacity of 9 MW; namely a 5-MW solar project in Phra Phutthabat, Saraburi province, a cooperation with WVO Lopburi, and 4-MW solar project in Tha Muang, Kanchanaburi province with WVO Supanburi, are the first two projects in such program to start commercial operations on July 20 and 23, 2018, respectively.
These two solar government projects are expected to generate income at 4.12 Baht per unit for 25 years from July 2018 with the tax exemption from the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) for a period of 8 years.
The company also has a policy in value creation for the community and the society in a broader scope than creating business value, under social enterprise concept. The company’s support in solar government projects with agricultural co-operatives and WVO are among activities carried out in accordance with such concept.
At present, BCPG’s total installed capacity is approximately 600 MW, with solar power, wind power and geothermal power businesses in Thailand, Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia. The Company is now entering into retail business focusing on working directly with consumers by using Blockchain technology in energy trading and energy management, aiming for sustainable growth of the company.
